The Fulton School District Board of Education has accepted and approved the contractor bid for the 2016 capital project after a presentation at Tuesday’s (Feb 23) regular board meeting. The 2016 capital project is an extension of the 2012 and 2014 capital projects and will be funded using leftover money from those two prior referendums. What we’ve read in the NYPSC’s press release today doesn’t provide us with any more certainty than we had in late 2015,” said Mike Twomey, vice president of external affairs for Entergy EWC. Assemblyman Will Barclay made the following statement today after the Public Service Commission announced today that they have expedited a plan to seeing that FitzPatrick is refueled in conjunction with the Clean Energy Standard.
The FitzPatrick nuclear power facility could be financially sound and ready for refueling as soon as June under an expedited rescue plan proposed today by the NYS Public Service Commission. In addition to proposing the plan and commencing the necessary public comment process, the Commission also repeated its offer to work cooperatively with the facility’s owner to take steps necessary to keep the plant operating beyond this year.

Lack of city support puts some events in jeopardy. At Monday’s Common Council meeting, by a 4-3 vote, councilors voted not to provide city support for some events planned by Cre8 Studios. Organizers say they aren’t certain now whether they will move forward with the events.
SUNY Oswego alum, Linda Cohn set the record for most broadcasts anchored at SportsCenter with her edition airing Sunday on ESPN. Cohn graduated in 1981 from SUNY Oswego, where she also played on the women’s ice hockey team and has worked with SportsCenter since July of 1992.
