Fulton Council Approves Sale Of Two Nestles Properties

Nestles Building #30, located on Fay Street, and the adjoining parking lot, located on South Fourth Street were sold to Gary E. Springs of Spring Storage Park at the July 7 Common Council meeting. The council unanimously approved the sale. Springs intends to use the building and parking lot for warehousing and his U-Haul business.

Intersection Improvement Under Way On Route 481 In Oswego

The New York State Department of Transportation is advising motorists of an ongoing project in Oswego County that will soon affect traffic using New York State Route 481 near the Public Safety Building in the city of Oswego. The goal of this project is to improve safety at the Route 481 intersections with Churchill Road and Oswego County Route 57.

Dr. Graham Bradley of SUNY Oswego (right) and student-researcher Jeremy Fontaine are rediscovering the former locations of Fort George and Fort Ontario this summer in Oswego. This geoarcheological geophysical investigation is part of an undergraduate Faculty-Student Challenge Grant. The field work and interpretation will improve the understanding of the role of Oswego during the French and Indian War as well as improve the understanding of the operation of Fort Ontario during and following the Civil War.

Rediscovering The Forts Of Oswego

This summer Dr. Graham Bradley of the SUNY Oswego Department of Atmospheric and Geological Sciences and student-researcher Jeremy Fontaine will try to rediscover the former locations of two historic forts in Oswego. They are collecting data at 18th century Fort George on the west side, and the 19th century support buildings at Fort Ontario.

Oswego Council OKs Hiring A Consultant

Councilors voted 6-1 to authorize the mayor to sign a proposal to hire Connecticut Planning and Development. The cost will be $20,000 and will be paid out of the 2015 Planning Budget (Fees for service – non-employee – consulting account). The consultant will “provide professional service in order to prepare a competitive and data-driven strategic plan to submit to CNY REDC” as the city is seeking a large pot of funding from the state.
