Former Oswego Resident Donates ‘Circus’ To RR Museum

The circus is coming to town, thanks to a former Port City resident. David H Dice said he is giving the Oswego Railroad Museum the circus layout he built over the last few years. “I want people to in joy it. My grandchildren and there children and family can see it and say, ‘My Grandfather made this.’ I am so happy to be able to do this,” he said.

Sunshine Center Opens its Doors to the Community

New and improved! Renovations are coming along wonderfully at Sunshine.After many hours of “hardcore repairs,” new carpets, and tearing down old wallpaper in favor of paint, the Sunshine Community and Childcare Center held its open house on Sunday. It’s the brainchild of Jessica Naioti, inspired by the trouble she had finding reliable childcare for her son, Benjamin. Her hope is that Sunshine becomes the place kids want to be in Fulton, and will tell their friends about.

Fulton Police Department welcomes Meki

Officer Jarrett Marino with MekiThe Fulton Police Department recently welcomed its newest member, Meki, a 15-month-old Male German Sheppard. Meki, who was born in Holland, graduated K-9 training with the Syracuse Police Department on May 31,  with his handler Officer Jarrett Marino. Meki is replacing Fulton Police K-9, “Rika,” who just retired.

On her left is Class President Ryan Perry and right is Valedictorian Taylor Beckwith. “This is certainly an important day for all of us,” said Superintendent Donna Fountain before asking the graduating class to give their parents a round of applause for their support over the years. David Wilbert, Hannibal Alumni Class of 2001, was the guest speaker at the event. “Here’s my advice to you,” said Wilbert. “Be successful, follow your heart, and take risks.”
