Oswego County Completes Portion of Aerial Spraying

Aerial spraying of a portion of the target area in central Oswego County was completed on Monday, September 9. The entire target area encompasses approximately 15,000 acres in portions of the towns of Mexico, New Haven, Palermo, Scriba and Volney. Weather permitting, the remainder will be finished tonight, Tuesday, September 10.

Antique Engines and Tractors Will Run Again at ‘Crank It Up’ Show Sept. 21-22

Admission is by donation. Parking is free. Founded eight years ago by Doreen Macklen, her husband Dale and son Jim, all of Boylston in northern Oswego County, the show has grown into a “heritage show and tell” of vintage farm machinery, crafts, music, and traditional agricultural activities from the rural North Country.

Kites Soar At Fort Ontario

Fort Ontario is the only state park that has kite flying in its mission. In other places, park police could show up and they have the discretion to tell people they can’t fly a kite in the park.
