At 6 p.m. Tuesday, Donald J. Martin Jr., 35, of 603 County Route 30, Apt. 4, Williamstown, was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child. He is alleged to have smoked Amped in the presence of a child.
“This is not an issue of, ‘We need somebody to come save us’. It’s a matter of doing what’s best for the community,” said Fulton YMCA board member Jeff Grimshaw, who added that the agency is financially sound.
The 23-year-old Oswego native died Sept. 2 in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, the result of “a non-combat related incident.” Tuesday night, people lined both sides of the street for blocks to pay their respects as the hearse carrying his body brought him home again.
Weather permitting, the Oswego County Health Department will conduct aerial spraying tonight, September 11. The aerial spray will begin after 6:45 p.m. If the spraying is postponed due to weather conditions, residents will be notified through the news media and information will be posted at www.oswegocounty.com
Three years after Alan L. Jones was convicted of second-degree murder in the killing of his 11-year-old stepsister, an appeals court panel is considering a plea that could set Jones free. On 9/10/12 at 9:54 p.m., Janna L. Manson, 32, of 607 CR 30 Apt 4, Williamstown, was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest. She allegedly smoked Amped in the presence of a child and then held on to the steering wheel of the vehicle as patrol attempted to restrain her.
The murder of Erin Maxwell returns to court this morning for the first time in nearly three years. A lawyer for the man accused of killing her will argue that his client did not get a fair trial.

The New York State Field Band Conference commenced the march to the Carrier Dome on Saturday night as high school bands were active throughout Central New York. The Marching Buccaneers headed west to East Irondequoit to compete against two other National Division bands. On Sept. 22, the Oswego High School Marching Buccaneers will host the annual Pageant of Champions.
