New York State Parks Announces Solar Energy Project At Green Lakes State Park For Climate Week

To recognize Climate Week, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (State Parks) today announced that a new solar array will be installed to provide carbon-free, sustainable power at Green Lakes State Park in Fayetteville. This shift to power Green Lakes with solar builds on New York’s nation-leading climate goals and Governor Kathy Hochul’s effort to increase use of renewable energy across all state properties.

TRAVEL ADVISORY: Ramp Closure Scheduled Along Interstate 481 Southbound In The City Of Syracuse

The New York State Department of Transportation is alerting motorists of a traffic pattern change related to the I-81 Viaduct Project. On Monday, September 25, at 9 a.m. the ramp from Interstate 481 southbound to Interstate 81 southbound in the City of Syracuse will close and reopen in the spring of 2025 as the re-designated I-81 southbound.

Performer Applications Are Now Available For 2024 Harborfest

Musicians interested in performing at Harborfest in 2024 can now apply. The 2024 Performer Applications can be found here. More than two dozen bands and performers of a variety of genres were on the schedule for 2023, making Harborfest one of the region’s larger music festivals. Committee review of applications will begin in October and end when all slots are filled. Deadline for applications is October 15.
