Oswego County Health Department Issues BOIL WATER ORDER for Orwell

The Oswego County Health Department has issued a boil water order for customers of the Orwell Town water system. Customers should boil all water for drinking and cooking purposes.

Due to an equipment malfunction, untreated water was released into the distribution system, which could result in inadequate chlorine levels in the drinking water.

State Report: Local Charities Give More Than 70% of Funds They Raise To Fundraising Firms

Six Oswego County non-profits have gotten just 28 cents of every dollar that people thought they were donating to those groups in the last four years, according to new data from the state.

The state Attorney General’s office has issued its annual report on professional fundraising firms who raise money for local organizations, called “Pennies for Charity”.

Absentee Count Narrows Hoffman’s Longshot Chances

<p>Doug Hoffman.</p>Absentee ballot totals were announced Tuesday in four of the eleven counties that make up the 23rd Congressional Disrrict.

The result: Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman narrowed the gap with Democrat Doug Owens by just 214 votes as the results from Oneida, Madison, Hamilton and Fulton counties came in.

Oswego County Residents Can Make Appointments for H1N1 Flu Vaccine

The Oswego County Health Department has received additional H1N1 flu vaccine and will accept calls for appointments on Thursday, Nov. 19, and Friday, Nov. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., or until all appointments are filled. People who are in priority groups for receiving the vaccine as noted below may call for appointments.
