Maxwell Trial Updates: Thursday

UPDATE 1:  Lynn Maxwell remains on the stand, under cross examination from Assistant DA Mark Moody.

Few points made so far:

  • Maxwell believes her statements to police contained several errors.  Moody asked her whether she read the statements before she signed them, and then  signed them.  Yes, she said, but there were sitll errors.
  • Only a few cats had fleas in the home, she said.  Others have testified that they were covered in fleas after entering the Maxwell home.

A brief recess, then the testimony continues.

Maxwell Trial Continues: Evening Updates

We’ll stop by  on recesses to update you on Wednesday night’s developments in the trial  of Lynn and Lindsey Maxwell, accused of misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of Erin Maxwell.

Erin died last year but her father and stepmother are not accused in her death.

The Palermo Town Courtroom is full again, as has become the norm for this unusual trial.

Lynn Maxwell: Erin Could Get Out Of Her Locked Bedroom Anytime

Lynn Maxwell offered at least three reasons for having locks on the outside of stepdaughter Erin Maxwell’s door.

Lynn Maxwell took the witness stand after the prosecution rested its case of more than 20 hours of testimony alleging that Lynn and husband Lindsey Maxwell endangered 11 year old Erin’s life by keeping her in a home with widespread cat feces and a thick odor of cat urine and by keeping her in a room with locks on the outside of the two doors.

Former Fulton Athletes, Sisters, Train and Run Triathlons Together

Here’s a good news story to start your day: Sisters who grew up in Fulton and played sports here are separated by thousands of miles but sports is bringing them together again. Terri Rogers of Cortland and Michele Rebeor of Arizona have been pushing each other to keep training and keep getting better in the demanding sport of triathlon.  And they are getting better each year, even as they head into their 40s.
