Meth Lab Busts Reported In Albion, Amboy

As a result of the Albion search warrant execution, materials and equipment used to manufacture and possess methamphetamine were seized, police said. In addition, approximately 5 ounces of “methamphetamine oil” and 13 marihuana plants were seized, according to the report. Mayor Barlow Creates City of Oswego Poverty Reduction Steering Committee

Under Governor Andrew Cuomo’s leadership, the State of New York created the Empire State Poverty Reduction Initiative of which the city of Oswego was identified and selected as one of ten upstate communities to receive $500,000 in funding to create public and private partnership in working together to design and implement coordinated solutions to increase social mobility.

The Oswego County Bicentennial Photo Contest Committee recently announced the winners of the competition. Twenty people submitted nearly 80 photos to the contest. Finalists were displayed at the Oswego County Fair in Sandy Creek where the public was invited to vote for their favorite picture in eight separate categories.

Authorities Peacefully Resolve Standoff With ‘Suicidal Subject’

On Saturday (August 20), at about 6:20 p.m., Oswego Police officers, and other emergency services personnel responded to Lincoln Avenue in Oswego for a possible suicidal subject. At 12:50 a.m. today (August 21), after approximately 6 ½ hours of negotiating, the subject complied with law enforcement and voluntarily surrendered outside of his residence where he was taken into custody without further incident.
