Mayor Barlow Outlines City’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative Proposal

Governor Andrew Cuomo proposed in his state budget $100 million in state grants for revitalizing downtowns through the Downtown Revitalization Initiative, which will be allocated across the state’s 10 Regional Economic Development Council. The city of Oswego is competing for the $10 million allocation for the Central New York REDC.

Law Enforcement Pounds the Pavement To Benefit Special Olympics-NY

More than two dozen members of area law enforcement agencies were pounding the pavement in the heat and humidity for more than two hours straight today (May 31) for a good cause. Members of local law enforcement carried the “Flame of Hope” from Oswego Police Department to Fulton Police Department to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics New York athletes, and the 2016 Special Olympics New York Summer Games, June 10-12, at SUNY Brockport.

Five Arrested on Meth charges after vehicle and traffic stop in Oswego County

On May 27, at approximately 10:30 p.m., State Police stopped a 2016 Dodge Ram pickup truck on Blythe Road in the Town of Hannibal after observing the truck traveling west in the eastbound lane. While searching the vehicle, Troopers reportedly located a large amount of Crystal Methamphetamine and US currency.

Oswego Honors Its Veterans

Once again, dozens of people visited Veterans’ Memorial Park on Monday to honor and thank the men and women who fought and died for our freedoms. Members of the area veterans’ and service groups spent the early morning visiting various parks and cemeteries in Oswego and surrounding communities paying tribute to our nation’s veterans. A few onlookers, several with flags and cameras, lined the parade route from West Park to Veterans’ Memorial Park shortly before 11 a.m. They applauded as the group marched by.
