Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced $166,000 in federal funding from the Economic Development Administration (EDA) to support strategic planning for the Village of Cazenovia following the closure of Cazenovia College in Madison County.

Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand joined Auburn Community Hospital President & CEO Scott Berlucchi, City Councilor Ginny Kent and Cayuga County Legislature Chair David Gould to highlight $2 million in federal funding for Auburn Community Hospital’s new state-of-the-art cancer center and to view the construction site. The funding will support the expansion of the cancer center and will be used for infrastructure improvements and to purchase critical medical equipment for cancer diagnostics.

Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced $6,837,883 in federal funding for youth mental health initiatives and programs, as well as treatment for substance use disorders in New York State. The funding was allocated through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and will be used to serve a wide array of needs, including helping to develop and support school- and community-based mental health programs and services, as well as expanding access to substance use disorder (SUD) treatments.

Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand visited Buttonwood Grove Winery to announce her Finger Lakes National Heritage Area Act, legislation that would designate the Finger Lakes region as a National Heritage Area. National Heritage Areas (NHA) are established by Congress to recognize a region’s natural, cultural, or historic significance. Securing this designation for the Finger Lakes would promote tourism and help ensure that the area is preserved for generations to come.

Today, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced $3,224,471.27 in federal funding for fire departments across New York State. The funding will be used to provide protective gear, training, and supplies to emergency personnel across twenty-nine fire departments. This federal funding was administered through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG).
