Mannion (D-Geddes) today announced continued record funding for the Manufacturers Association of Central New York (MACNY) with an additional $1,750,000 for workforce training in high-demand and high-skill manufacturing jobs in Central New York and across the state.  Senator Mannion has secured $4,250,000 for MACNY’s workforce training programs since taking office, including to help fund its successful Manufacturing Intermediary Apprenticeship Program (MIAP.)

Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand visited Buttonwood Grove Winery to announce her Finger Lakes National Heritage Area Act, legislation that would designate the Finger Lakes region as a National Heritage Area. National Heritage Areas (NHA) are established by Congress to recognize a region’s natural, cultural, or historic significance. Securing this designation for the Finger Lakes would promote tourism and help ensure that the area is preserved for generations to come.

Today, U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles E. Schumer and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced $3,224,471.27 in federal funding for fire departments across New York State. The funding will be used to provide protective gear, training, and supplies to emergency personnel across twenty-nine fire departments. This federal funding was administered through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG).
