For the 87th time in Oswego Speedway history and the second time in his career, a ‘Bellinger’ visited victory lane this past Saturday night at the ‘Steel Palace’ as third generation driver Brandon Bellinger took advantage of his outside pole starting spot to put the Daratt Farms Racing, Eddie Bellinger maintained iconic yellow No. 02 in the speedway’s victory lane.
On a night that is always known to play a pivotal role in the outcome of the driver’s championship for the Pathfinder Bank SBS division, it was not any of the top three championship contenders, but two former champions and series veterans in Kreig Heroth and Mike Bond going to victory lane.
Heavy rains moved over the Fulton Speedway this afternoon saturating the speedway forcing track officials to cancel Saturday, August 12, racing program. Billy Whittaker Cars & Trux $20 Car Load and Fan Fest has been moved to Saturday, August 19.
Only two events remain on Oswego Speedway’s 2017 schedule with this Saturday’s program highlighting Twin 20 Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super mains as well as a 50-lap Novelis Supermodified feature event presented by CNY CPR and OswegoCountyToday.com. The Twin SBS mains will no doubt play a key role in who will be declared this year’s track champion.

Pathfinder Bank SBS veteran Mike Bruce has found himself caught in the middle of more bad luck this year than perhaps any other driver at the Oswego Speedway. Last night all of that changed when the driver of the Bruce Racing double deuce picked up his fifth career SBS triumph at the ‘Steel Palace’ after starting in the pole position and holding off good friend Cameron Rowe for victory.
He’s still got it. 61-year-old Joe Gosek did it again Saturday night (Aug. 5) at Oswego Speedway, earning his 43rd career victory on ‘Retro Night’ at the Big O, bringing the crowd to its feet as Gosek became the oldest non-wing Supermodified winner in track history.
“Mad Max” McLaughlin is now a big block modified feature winner. Teenager Max McLaughlin out of Mooresville, NC has knocked on the door of victory lane racking up many top-five finishes in his short-modified career. Saturday night at the Fulton Speedway he not only knocked on the door, he kicked it wide open, picking up his first ever victory in the big block modifieds, not only at Fulton Speedway but at any speedway.
