It’s official, the 61st annual Budweiser Classic Week at Oswego Speedway is now upon us. With campers from across the continent beginning to move in at 6am Sunday morning, those already on the grounds will have the opportunity to smell the methanol of the Supermodifieds for the first time of the week on Monday, August 28.
Coming into Saturday night Jimmy Phelps sat third in points and he knew he had to take matters into his own hands to have a shot at the Tracey Road Equipment Modified Track Championship on Saturday, September 2. Phelps went out and won the 35-lap feature after a tough battle with Billy Whittaker making the winning pass on lap 27 and putting him just one point out of the championship chase. The thirteenth consecutive season of the popular Novelis ‘Fan Can Chase’ at Oswego Speedway is now in the books and it was yet another successful endeavor, with more than 116,000 cans being collected through three events, pushing the all-time can count to nearly 1.4 million.

Come Budweiser Classic Weekend at Oswego Speedway, there will be yet another accomplished Small Block Super veteran in the mix of over thirty cars already signed up to qualify for the 26th running of the Bud Light Classic 75 on Sunday, September 3.
If it has four wheels it will be raced or destroyed this Saturday, August 26 at the Fulton Speedway when Burke’s Do-It-Best Home Centers of Fulton & Oswego presents a night of high speed racing followed by demolition derbies.
With Budweiser International Classic Weekend at Oswego Speedway on the horizon, TCCS front runners Dave Shullick Jr, Michael Muldoon, and Jeff Abold are looking to carry recent momentum into the richest Supermodified race in the world – the Budweiser International Classic 200.
Alexa Aramburu – a senior from the 2016-17 Oswego State women’s ice hockey team – was one of just 105 players to be selected in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League draft on Sunday. Aramburu was picked 30th overall in the fifth of 23 rounds by the Toronto Furies.
