The Oswego State women’s ice hockey team fell to 8-3-1 on the season with a 4-2 loss at St. Norbert College on Friday night at the Cornerstone Center.

The Oswego State women’s basketball team won 73-60 in convincing fashion over visiting Fredonia on Friday night in Max Ziel Gymnasium. Oswego’s win snapped a three-game skid and improved its record to 5-6 overall and 1-3 in the SUNYAC on the season.

The Oswego High School wrestling team copped an important win, indoor track Lady Bucs performed well and swimmers as well as basketball were in action on the varsity level. Meanwhile, the Lady Buc jayvee basketball team remained unbeaten in recent action.

As Oswego Speedway’s 64th consecutive season of racing sits on the horizon, Oswego High School Buccaneer teenagers Anthony Losurdo and Camden Proud prepare to continue the youth movement at the ‘Steel Palace.’ It’s not often adult’s think of high school teenagers racing on a 5/8 mile Speedway at 120mph, lined with steel retaining walls. However, in the last 15 years it has become common place in the Port City.

The Oswego State men’s basketball team had its seven-game win streak snapped in a tough 75-69 overtime loss at Oneonta on Tuesday night. With its first loss in nearly two months, Oswego falls to 8-2 on the season and 2-1 in the SUNYAC.

The nationally-ranked Oswego State men’s ice hockey team improved to 7-2-2 on the season with a 5-0 win over visiting Connecticut College at the Campus Center Ice Arena.

The Oswego State women’s basketball team dropped a heartbreaking 66-62 contest at Oneonta on Tuesday night. Oswego’s loss drops the team to 4-6 overall and 0-3 in SUNYAC play.

The State University of New York Athletic Conference has bestowed Player of the Week honors on Mike Montagna of the men’s ice hockey team while naming teammate Matt Zawadzki its Rookie of the Week for the week ending January 5.

The Oswego State men’s ice hockey team won its second-straight PathFinder Bank/Oswego State Hockey Classic championship with a 2-1 shootout win over Utica College after playing to a 2-2 tie through overtime. Senior captain David Titanic scored the game-winner to earn his team the victory. With the tie, Oswego moves to 6-2-2 on the season.
