The Oswego State field hockey team (3-8) turned in a strong defensive performance in a 3-0 win over the Elmira Soaring Eagles (3-6) on Tuesday. Alyssa Hare recorded two goals in the second half to lift the Lakers to the victory.

The Oswego State women’s tennis team (3-12) nearly erased a 2-1 deficit heading into singles play, but was unable to complete the comeback in a 5-4 loss to Elmira (5-5) on Tuesday.

With the 2012 Oswego Speedway season now in the books, focus now shifts to the Mitchell’s Speedway Press Oswego Speedway Banquet set to be hosted by the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center on November 10.

The Oswego State men’s golf team improved on Saturday’s round by two strokes after posting a team score of 329 to finish with 660 total strokes at the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championships hosted by the par-72 Blue Heron Hills Country Club.

After dropping a tight first set, the Oswego State volleyball team (10-10) responded by winning the next three sets to defeat Utica (5-13), 26-28, 25-11, 25-12, 25-18, Saturday afternoon.

Michael Fuss (So., Webster, N.Y.) netted his first goal of the season to put the Oswego State men’s soccer team (3-8-1, 2-3-1 SUNYAC) ahead for good, as the Lakers defeated Buffalo State (1-10-1, 0-4-1 SUNYAC), 1-0, during Senior Day on Saturday.

Billy Decker started his day by winning the poll for Sunday’s VP Small Engines Fuel 200 at Super DIRT Week, and then ended the day winning the $10,500 plus lap money to win 20th annual SUNY Canton Hurricane 100 presented by Ferris Mowers at the Brewerton Speedway.

The Oswego State volleyball team (9-10) struggled to stop the SUNY Canton (14-2) offense on Friday night, as the Lakers suffered a straight-set loss (25-21, 25-12, 25-18) on Friday night at Max Ziel Gymnasium.
