Additional Information: Body observed in the Oswego River on 4/14/2024

OSWEGO – On Sunday April 14, 2024, The Oswego Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a report of a body in the Oswego River north of the Bridge Street bridge.  At that time multiple marine and air units were dispatched to the scene to investigate.  No body was found in the area and no missing person complaints had been filed.  Subsequent searches of the river, Oswego harbor and Lake Ontario shoreline have continued utilizing marine side scan sonar and drones.

On Tuesday April 16, 2024, at approximately 6:13 pm, the Oswego Police Department received a report of a missing person from the Lock 7 Apartments along East First Street. Family reported that a male, Kenneth J. Gardner, had not been seen since the weekend.

Based on the information received, further investigation it is believed that male in the river was likely Mr. Gardner.

Searches of the river, harbor and shoreline are continuing.
