On Wednesday not only will students at the Frederick Leighton and Kingsford Park elementary schools enjoy a rare opportunity to see amazing animals in real life, but the community will also be provided with two programs that are perfect for the entire family.

Oswego Council Tables Local Law Resolution

If passed, Local Law #2 of 2010 would amend Chapter 63, Animals, of the Code of the City of Oswego. As of Jan. 1, NYS Department of Agriculture and Markets will no longer be responsible for dog licensing; the state has shifted that task to local municipalities. However, the city was looking to include other things in the law besides the shift in licensing responsibilities.

Zoo to You Program Visits Oswego County BOCES

</p>Dana Boyden, an early childhood program student at Oswego County BOCES, got to meet Ethyl. Ethyl is a Box turtle who was brought from the Rosamond Gifford Zoo to visit the classroom, as part of their Zoo to You Program.

As part of their Zoo to You program, Rosamond Gifford Zoo brought some of their animals to OCB.
