A trio of Oswego High School student-athletes signed letters of intent recently. They are Chris Pike (Gannon), Lacey Brown (Pfeiffer University) and Sean Stegemoller (Canisius). Pike will play football, Brown lacrosse and Stegemoller will swim at the college level.
With temperatures reaching nearly 140 degrees on the field the Oswego and Carthage girls’ varsity lacrosse teams squared off for the Section III Class B title. It was an emotional and physical roller coaster as the teams gutted it out before the Bucs advanced to the state regional competition for the first time in the history of the program with a 15-14 victory.
This season has seen numerous improvements in the Oswego High School Softball Stadium. Novelis has been a major contributor to the effort for a new outfield fence and Buc windscreen.
The temperature might have been less than 20 degrees, but it didn’t stop the Oswego varsity boys’ lacrosse team from heating up. On March 25, the 2011 campaign commenced for the lax team as the Bucs hosted Iroquois under the lights and came away with a convincing 12-4 victory.
It was senior night at the Oswego Middle School on Monday as the Baldwinsville Bees came to town to wrestle against the Bucs. Fayetteville-Manlius ruined the Oswego Bucs opportunity to capture a league title as the Hornets swept the boys 3-0 on the lanes while the girls captured two points to keep them alive for a berth in the sectionals.
Sunday will be an emotional night for the Oswego High School Marching Bucs “Class of 2011” as their career will come to an end.
FitzGibbons Agency recently showed its support of Oswego High School student athletes with the donation ofÂ 2010 Fall Sports schedules to the Buc Boosters.
Mr. Buc was at the first Fitzhugh Park Elementary School assembly of the year.
Buc Boosters’ BucFest committee members gathered in the newly renovated Oswego High School cafeteria with Frito Lay Sales Execution Manager Jolene Becksted and “Cracker Jack.”
The Oswego boysÃ¢â‚¬â„¢ varsity golf team opened its 2009 season on Thursday with a win against Utica Proctor at Oswego Country Club by a final score of 214-245.
