Oswego Council Recognizes Fraternity For Community Service
Sigma Tau Chi was cited Tuesday night by the mayor for their history of community service. The fraternity has conducted several community projects, including mentoring high school students for their SATs. They have a dinner planned for Saturday to raise funds and awareness.

A Piece Of Oswego’s History To Be Restored To Its Rightful Place
A small segment of part of the Port City’s big history will return thanks to the efforts of the Oswego Sunrise Rotary Club.At its meeting Monday night, the Physical Services Committee granted permission of the Rotarians to place a restored railroad watchman’s shanty in the Seaway Trail Gateway Interpretative Park, fronting on East First Street.

Council Votes 4-2-1 To Hike Sewer Fees
At a special meeting of the Common Council Monday evening, councilors voted to approve the new sewer rate proposed by the mayor. Councilors Shawn Walker and Bill Sharkey voted against the increase. The public is invited to a town hall meeting Thursday to let city officials know how they feel.

Exploring green alternatives for storm water management in Oswego’s sewer systems will provide examples for Oswego residents to reduce the impact of storm water in the city sewer system, according to Mary Vanouse, community development director. The Port City has been selected as an ideal location to demonstrate Rain Gardens for the general public.
