Charlotte Award Nominees Revealed
The Oswego Reading Council will reveal the Charlotte Award nominees for this year at their meeting Tuesday.
Sigma Tau Chi was cited Tuesday night by the mayor for their history of community service. The fraternity has conducted several community projects, including mentoring high school students for their SATs. They have a dinner planned for Saturday to raise funds and awareness.
A small segment of part of the Port City’s big history will return thanks to the efforts of the Oswego Sunrise Rotary Club.
At a special meeting of the Common Council Monday evening, councilors voted to approve the new sewer rate proposed by the mayor. Councilors Shawn Walker and Bill Sharkey voted against the increase. The public is invited to a town hall meeting Thursday to let city officials know how they feel.

SUNY Oswego’s Center for Service Learning and Community Service wants approval of a volunteer student project. Members of the incoming freshmen would paint over graffiti along the east and west linear parks.
