FCSD Revs Up School Security with Armoured One Training

Fulton Schools Offer Free Breakfast, Lunch for All Students

Fulton City School District has been approved for participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) offering free breakfast and lunch daily to all students districtwide. Beginning in the 2018-2019 school year, students in grades pre-kindergarten through twelfth enrolled at any of the six district schools as well as students at the 4th Street CiTi BOCES location will be offered a nutritional breakfast and lunch each day, free of any cost to district students or families. FCSD Offers Space Themed STEAM Summer Camp with $1M Grant

The Fulton City School District was recently awarded the Title IV Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) grant in the sum of $1 million. The 15-month grant allows FCSD to offer a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) summer camp from August 13 – August 24 as well as an after school program through the duration of the 2018-2019 school year. Fulton Class of 2018 Includes 93-Year-Old Veteran, Teen Undergoing Chemotherapy

Along with G. Ray Bodley High School seniors, a 93-year-old war veteran and a senior staying at Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital while undergoing chemotherapy treatment are among Fulton’s class of 2018 graduates. Fulton City School District administration first presented World War II veteran Norman Smith with an honorary high school diploma at a ceremony at St. Luke’s Nursing Home. Administration then brought a surprise ceremony to Alicia Carroll, a G. Ray Bodley honor student graduating with a Regents Diploma with advanced designation who was unable to walk at graduation due to chemotherapy treatment at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse. Fulton School Budget Approved by District Voters

Fulton City School District qualified voters showed up to vote on the district’s proposed 2018-2019 budget, three open seats on the board of education, and a proposition to approve the purchase of two passenger vans. Unofficial results show the $71,992,850 budget was approved by voters with 340 votes in favor and 142 against, several hundred fewer voters than the previous year. Two newcomers and one incumbent have secured three available seats on the district’s board of education.

Fulton’s Annual Parent University To Screen Award Winning Film: ‘Resilience’

Fulton City School District will hold the fourth annual Parent University on Saturday, March 24 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at G. Ray Bodley High School. New this year, Parent University will include two showings of the award winning film, “Resilience.” As in years past, parents will have the opportunity to attend several informational sessions, attend student performances, and gather information from the community resource fair. Breakfast, lunch, transportation, and child surpervision is provided for free.

Plath Appointed To Vacant Seat On Fulton BOE

A sudden resignation last month left the Fulton City School District Board of Education grappling with options regarding the vacant seat. After soliciting letters of interest from community members willing to fill the position, five people came forward with interest in the position. After reviewing the interested parties, board vice president Dan Pawlewicz made a motion to appoint Christine Plath to the position at Tuesday’s (Jan 24) regular meeting. The motion was approved with four votes in favor and one abstaining vote from board member Lynn Lyons.
