It was a great day for a parade in Oswego on Sunday. Our Steve Yablonski, with help from Nicholas Cafalone, offers a few of the images from the 2011 Independence Day Parade.

Members of Lake City Lodge F&AM and Eastern Star put finishing touches on their float for the Oswego Fourth of July Parade. On Sunday, the Masons will ride in on the newly decorated float.
The H. Lee White Marine Museum will be closed Sunday, July 3, due to the traffic limitations related to the Independence Day Parade. The museum will re-open for regular hours on Monday July 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce has decided to reverse the parade route this year. It will begin along Liberty Street and wind up at the fort.
The City of Oswego Lighthouse Committee has a large replica model of the lighthouse that they would like to have participate in this Sunday’s Independence Day Parade. They need a clean pickup truck that can accommodate a 4′ x 4′ x 4′ model of the lighthouse and a few people.
After being rained out Friday, the annual Children’s Parade is slated to step off at noon on Saturday from East Park. The fun continues Saturday – highlighted by the fireworks spectacular at 9:15 p.m.

Crowds lined West Bridge Street Sunday afternoon to catch a glimpse of the annual Oswego Independence Day Celebration parade. Sunday’s event had something for everyone from marching bands to fire trucks.
The Pride of Oswego, the Oswego High School Marching Buccaneers, will be part of one of the most anticipated events of the summer, the 47th annual Independence Day Celebration.
Catholic Charities of Oswego County entered its first ever float in this year’s Fulton Memorial Day Parade.
