The New York State Field Band Conference season has commenced as the Oswego High School Marching Buccaneers opened the new year last Saturday evening at East Syracuse-Minoa.
The annual Oswego “Pageant of Champions†is just over a week away and the Oswego High School Marching Buccaneers return to the field for competition this Saturday evening at Cicero-North Syracuse.
This Saturday evening the “Pride of Oswego,†the 2010 edition of the Oswego High School Marching Buccaneers, will open the New York State Field Band Conference season at East Syracuse-Minoa.

The Oswego High School Marching Buccaneers turned in one of their best performances of the season Sunday night as the best bands in the state competed one last time.
Oswego High School Marching Buc Drum Major Amber Scruton knew it was a good show. The judges at James Madison University apparently agreed with the OHS senior as “The Pride of Oswego†received an 82.20 in Class AA competition to capture first place in the annual “Parade of Champions†in Harrisonburg, Va., on Saturday.
Oswego High School’s marching band stormed into Virginia for the weekend and came home with top prize. The Marching Buccaneers scored 82.20 to take first place among 9 schools at the James Madison University Parade of Champions.
