June 2010 Was Warmer, Much Wetter Than Average

Storm clouds such as these hung over Central New York several days  during June. Total rainfall last month was more than the three previous  months' totals combined.

The average temperature last month was 1.4 degrees above average despite the dreary rainy days throughout most of June. The total precipitation, however, was 4.32 inches above average – and more than the precipitation for March, April and May combined.



May 2010 Was One Of The Warmest

The average temperature last month, 60.6 degrees, was more than4 degrees higher than average and appears to also be the third warmest May on record in the Port City.



Winter 2009-10 Was Rather Mundane

Except for three periods of heavy snow, this past winter really didn’t amount to much. In fact, the total snowfall hardly made it over 100 inches.



February 2010 was Warmer, Snowier Than Normal

The average temperature was 2.6 degrees warmer than average last month. And yet, the snowfall for February was still 4.1 inches above average.



January’s Weather Was ‘Pretty Close To Average’

December 2009 Was Rather Average

The temperature and precipitation were both just about average last month. Total snowfall, however, was more than 5.5 inches below normal.



In December County Adopts Budget, Spares Transfer Station

The county’s $185,334,375 budget for 2010 doesn’t increase taxes and includes no raises for the legislators. Some legislators wanted to close the Hannibal Transfer Station as a money-saving “business decision.”

Seasonal flu clinics were under way in Oswego County in early fall. Additional clinics were scheduled for Swine Flu (H1N1) vaccination as the vaccine became available.
