Oswego Jazz Project to play Lake Effect Cafe on Oct. 15

The concert will showcase music from the group’s two albums, “Oswego Jazz Project” (2007) and “And the Time Is Now” (2008). OJP consists of SUNY Oswego music faculty members Dr. Robert Auler on keyboards, Dr. Eric Schmitz on drums and Trevor Jorgensen on saxophone, with Oswego alumnus Max McKee on bass.

Senators Aubertine, Gillibrand get USDA to Reverse Ruling

After a strong push from state Senate Agriculture Chair Darrel J. Aubertine and U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee Member Kirsten Gillibrand, the United States Department of Agriculture has committed to changing its interpretation of a local foods provision of the 2008 U.S. Farm Bill to allow local farmers to slice and bag fruits and vegetables for school children to snack on.
