Governor Andrew Cuomo believes his recent State of the State message travels well. On a day when members of his Cabinet fanned out across the state to deliver a near-copy of the speech, Oswego County’s local government officials packed Fulton’s Common Council chambers to see the speech for themselves.
The State Comptroller’s got a list, and the town of Hannibal is at the very top of it. The list, released Monday, shows the local governments which approved budgets that illegally exceeded the state’s new cap on tax levies.
Hannibal exceeded the cap by more than $154,000, the Comptroller’s office claims.
The rates are now $50 for residents and $100 for non-residents. It was $20. All other rates, including those at the International Marina, will remain the same at this time.
