Oswego Board Expresses Appreciation to Those Who Assisted Injured Children

On March 5, a bus accident resulted in six Oswego elementary school
children being injured and taken to the Oswego Health Emergency Room. At the March 26 Oswego City School District Board of Education meeting the members of the board and superintendent of schools presented a certificate of appreciation to each of the key units involved in assisting in keeping children safe and secure.

Bald Eagles Sighted Along the Oswego River

Several have been spotted in the Minetto area starting by Gray Road to just before the Midway Drive-In. “Bald eagles are known for congregating near areas with open water, and Oswego County has several pristine natural areas, such as the Salmon River corridor, that attract our national bird,” said David Turner, director of the Oswego County Department of Community Development, Tourism and Planning.

That has changed. The city of Nay Pyi Taw is ablaze with lights in the evening with beautiful roundabouts centered with huge flower sculptures and colorful twinkle lights.

Ithaca sweeps twinbill with Oswego State

In its first action since Spring Break, the Oswego State baseball team (9-5, 2-1 SUNYAC) fell in both games of a non-conference doubleheader to Ithaca (13-4).  The Lakers dropped a tough game in extra innings to start the day, losing 2-1 in 13 innings.  Ithaca broke out the bats in the second game, cruising to a 10-3 win.

Oswego State softball team splits doubleheader

The Oswego State softball team (4-8, 1-1 SUNYAC) knocked off Cortland (7-9, 1-1 SUNYAC) in game one of a doubleheader, 4-2, to snap a 36-game Red Dragon winning streak on Friday. Cortland responded by winning the nightcap, 8-0, in five innings. The victory marked the Lakers’ first over Cortland since April 25, 1987.
