Endocrinologist Francis Clifford Arce, MD, will discuss thyroid disorder management and disease at 6 p.m. November 14 in the JPC conference room of the Oswego Health Services Center, which is adjacent to Oswego Hospital.

Ida M. Taft, 88, of County Route 6, Volney, passed away on Saturday November 2, 2013, at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse.
Eleanor Irene Roth, 93, of Fulton, passed away on Friday November 1, 2013.
On Monday at approximately 8:05 p.m., New York State Police in Hastings were called to Railroad Street in the village of Parish for an alleged report of two men that had assaulted the homeowners with a machete, and stole property. This property allegedly included cash and a long gun. The suspects had left the scene prior to patrol’s arrival.
The Sandy Creek Central School Carpe Diem Chapter of the National Honor Society new member induction ceremony will be held on November 13 at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Eligible students were invited to apply to be considered for the honor society. In order to be eligible students must have an overall GPA of 87.0 or above.
Councilor Mike Todd asked that the city get together with the Tree Advisory Board and Oswego Tree Stewards to set some definite rules and guidelines as to the duties and responsibilities of each group. If there is a tree in need of immediate attention, he said, he feels confident that DPW Commissioner Mike Smith and his tree crew should be allowed to take the necessary action without having to wait for an opinion from an advisory board.
Students on Robyn Yorker’s Blue Team at the Oswego County BOCES’ Stepping Stones Day Program traded their ‘tricks’ and ‘treats’ in this Halloween for an opportunity to raise money for UNICEF (The United Nations Children’s Fund).
Dr. David D. O’Brien, 84, and formerly of Oswego, died Saturday morning November 2, 2013, in Westminster at Lake Ridge, Va.
