Event To Highlight National Women’s Health, Fitness Day
Healthy-food tastings, health talks by local experts, indoor and outdoor fitness demonstrations, and health screenings will highlight a National Women’s Health and Fitness Day celebration from 11:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 28, at SUNY Oswego Metro Center.

Schumer: Protecting Our Children’s Health Must Be Our #1 Priority
Senator Charles Schumer announced the U.S. Senate passed his legislation, which will help school districts across NYS test their drinking water for potential lead contamination. The senator said this bill would establish a new $20 million federal grant program for schools that choose to test for lead beyond this school year. He said, “our first priority should be keeping New York State children’s drinking water safe when they are at school.”

Rotarian Cited For Military Service
Joe Hutchinson, longtime Oswego Rotarian, was celebrated in a member highlight recently for his military service. Hutchinson was honored with a quilt created by the group Quilts of Valor Foundation.

Stella is a sweet, friendly, pretty long-haired youngster who raised her own kittens. They all have homes of their own now. So, it’s time for her to have a home and a good life, too. She is getting used to the dogs in her foster home and she is great with people.
