Oswego’s Marching Bucs ‘Golden’ in Massachusetts
This past weekend, the Marching Bucs competed in the New England School Bands Association competition held at Wakefield High School in Massachusetts. The Marching Bucs won the entire show with a score of 88.3 and received a gold rating. The Marching Bucs also won caption awards for Best Music, Best Color Guard, and Best Percussion!
Alternative Education Students Learn Cooking Skills
Students at the Bridges to Success program are cooking up success.
The alternative education program, offered through the Center for Instruction, Technology & Innovation, now has a small cooking area, equipped with one range and three preparation stations and cooking stations, which include: pots, pans, a griddle and utensils.
Two-Car Crash Sends 4 To Hospitals
At about 3:40 p.m. Monday, Volney Volunteer Fire Department along with four ALS ambulance from Menters were dispatched to a two-car MVA with several patients, with possible extraction. Three patients were transported to Syracuse hospital, one patient transported to Oswego Hospital.
Ernestine Y. Pomeroy, 98
Ending a long and fruitful life that wove through World War I, the Great Depression, World War II, the Golden Age of America and the Contemporary Period, Ernestine (Lorini) Pomeroy, 98, of Fulton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 5, 2016.

The physicians and staff of Oswego Health will take part in activities throughout October that promote national Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Perhaps the most important action community members can take is to encourage the women they know to undergo a mammogram.
