Pulaski Historical Society Events Announced

The Pulaski Historical Society will join in the activities celebrating the Salmon River Festival. The museum will have an open house and will be open for free tours. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 7. Also, on Oct. 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., you are invited to bring your lunch (or pick up some take-out at a local eatery) and come join us in the carriage house for our October Brown Bag Lunch.

Mayor Barlow Announces Supreme Court Upholds City Code Enforcement

In another legal victory for Mayor Billy Barlow’s administration, the New York State Supreme Court recently denied a complaint filed by out-of-town landlords alleging that the city of Oswego’s code enforcement actions violated their constitutional rights. Supreme Court Justice Norman W. Seiter Jr. issued a four-page Decision and Judgment dated September 26, 2017, denying in all aspects a complaint filed by Marcel and Patricia Morrisseau, of Sterling, NY, and dismissing their claims with prejudice.

Fulton Speedway Outlaw 200 Weekend Ready To Take Center Stage September 29- 30

More than 150 campers took advantage of early camping on Wednesday and more coming in by the minute, plus race teams are rolling into the pits Thursday evening, grabbing their spots before what will be a full pit area on Friday. Excitement is high for both fans and race teams for one of the crown jewels in Northeast racing, the 32nd Annual Sunoco Fulton Ethanol Plant Outlaw 200 Weekend Friday and Saturday September 29-30.

New Youth Court Members Ready To Dispense Teen Justice

Seventeen students from around the county became the newest members of Oswego County’s Youth Court on Tuesday night. Oswego County Family Court Judge Kim Seager administered the oath at the Oswego County Courthouse on Oneida Street as members of the graduates’ families looked on, many of them taking photographs. Brian Chetney, director of the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau, explained that Youth Court is “a recognized community diversion program aimed at keeping young offenders out of Family Court.”

Couple Charged With Animal Cruelty

State Police arrested Robert L. Williams, 33, and Candice L. Carey, 36, on animal cruelty charges. Williams and Carey are accused of depriving 2 Pitbull dogs with necessary sustenance, food or drink. On August 30, State Troopers responded to 216 Great Bear Road in the town of Schroeppel regarding 2 dogs tied to a shed.

Oswego Mayor Billy Barlow today (Sept. 28) announced a new partnership with the Oswego City School District and the Oswego High School television station WBUC. Mayor Barlow has partnered with WBUC to begin broadcasting the city of Oswego committee and Common Council meetings on television for Oswego residents to view from their homes.
