The nominations, which reflect the striking diversity of New York’s history, include the Mount Hope Cemetery in the Finger Lakes where both human rights pioneers Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony are buried, four sites significant in African-American history, an Off-Off-Broadway theater in New York City that is important in LGBT history, and a piece of Oswego’s railroad history – The Oswego & Syracuse Railroad Freight House on West Utica Street.

Mitchell’s Speedway Press Hall of Fame Banquet Concludes Oswego Speedway’s 2017 Season

The Lake Ontario Event & Conference Center once again remained the host location for the Mitchell’s Speedway Press Oswego Speedway Hall of Fame Banquet held on November 4 and this season it was time to crown a first-time track champion in Dave Shullick Jr. in the Supermodified division and now ‘three-time’ Dave Cliff in the Pathfinder Bank SBS class.

Director Holds Auditions For First CNY Arts Center 2018 Production

CNY Arts Center announces auditions for the first play of the 2018 season, The Curious Savage, directed by Dana Thomas. Auditions for the entertaining comedy written by John Patrick will be held November 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., November 13 and 14 from 6:30 – 9 p.m. The production is slated to run February 9-18, 2018, at the Arts Center, 11 River Glen Drive on the Cayuga College Fulton Campus.

Integrated Community Planning of Oswego County, Inc., recently recognized its 30th anniversary as a non-profit agency in Oswego County. ICP commemorated this milestone with a celebration held at the Oswego YMCA last week. Getting its start as the Oswego County Child Care Council in 1987, ICP has evolved over the past 30 years, becoming incorporated into ICP in 2001, expanding its vision and scope, and broadening its programs and services to the community.
