Parents Rally Against Bullying at Oswego Board of Education Meeting

In the wake of multiple bullying incidents that have been brought to light at Oswego High School, a group of parents banned together to rally for answers as well as stricter policies and consequences for bullies. The rally members came in the form of parents, family members and even a student that was bullied herself to face the board members and district superintendent to address the issues of bullying that they believe have become so predominant in Oswego City School District.

NYSDOT Open House Reveals Preliminary Designs for Fulton Resurfacing Project

The New York State Department of Transportation held an open house for the public at Fulton City Hall Wednesday to bring forth an informal presentation of the proposed resurfacing project to take place on Route 3 this spring. The project, planned to begin in the spring of this year, is expected to be completed by fall and will cover the length of Route 3 from Lakeview Avenue on the west side of Fulton to the east city line, near Oneida Street.

Dunsmoor Farms Employee Provides Insight to Cause of Massive Fire

Dunsmoor Farms is looking to recoup after a massive fire destroyed the onion farm’s warehouse building yesterday evening (Jan 2.)
Multiple crews responded to the fire at 7965 Rt. 104 in the town of Oswego after a call was made that explosions could be heard from the farm.
While officials are still investigating the cause of the fire, one employee provided some insight as to what caused the devastating blaze to start.

Fulton Holds Inauguration Meeting, Swears in Two New Councilmen

The city of Fulton held its inauguration ceremony on New Year’s Day in which two new councilmen and the mayor were sworn into their positions, the council elected a president, and numerous appointments were made, among other business. City Court Judge Hawthorne began the meeting by administering the oath to returning Mayor, Ronald Woodward Sr. All councilmen were then administered their oath, including the two newest councilmen, David B. Ritchie and Donald R. Patrick Jr.

Winners of 2015 Parade of Trees at Fulton Pratt House Listed

The John Wells Pratt House Museum of Fulton has held the annual Parade of Trees for roughly 35 years. Developed as a way for the residents of the city of Fulton and local businesses and organizations to come together during the holiday season, the event has only grown with each passing year. Today, the event is open to any school, non-profit organization or business that is interested in entering a decorated tree for the contest. Any person or group interested may enter a decorated Christmas tree in any of the four categories including adult, youth, child or business. The following presents the first, second and third places winners for each category.
