State police continue to investigate the death of an 11-year-old Palermo girl. While tight-lipped on details, police stress that there is no threat in the community.
There may be potential for historic preservation efforts along Broadway on Fulton’s west side. There may not be time, however, to change the potential outcome for the former First Congregational Church.
At the end of a preliminary hearing Tuesday, Fulton City Court Judge Spencer Ludington ruled that there is sufficient evidence to hold the case against Jay J. Barboni for grand jury action. Barboni is accused of causing the death of his girlfriend’s 15-month-old son Aug. 18. He remains in custody at the Oswego County Correctional Facility without bail.
Jay J. Barboni is in custody without bail this morning at the county jail, facing a charge of second-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend’s 15-month-old son. Police say they have their man. Barboni’s friends say they don’t believe he is capable of harming a child.
UPDATED: An Oswego man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly causing injuries to an infant last month. Jerrid M. Walts, 19, of 9 Chase Drive, Oswego, was charged with a class-D felony count of reckless assault of a child.
