Residents, staff, family and friends at Bishop’s Commons Enriched Housing Residence in Oswego are teaming up to help shine the spotlight on National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month this November.
Under the direction of Shirley Terrinoni, the 47-member band began the concert by performing pop icon Taylor Swift’s “Shake it Off,” followed by James Swearingen’s “Majestia,” Frank Ticheli’s “Shenandoah” and Peter Tschaikowsky’s “March from Symphony No. 2.”
Thirteen Fairgrieve Elementary School students, in grades three through six, were chosen to be members of the 2015-2016 student council after friendly, in-school campaigns encouraged the support of dozens of candidates.

Positive behavior was on display throughout October, as Lanigan Elementary School students exhibited responsibility in the classroom, hallways and cafeteria.
Michael A. Maroun Elementary School students who exemplified leadership and responsibility were chosen by their teachers as members of the school’s safety patrol.
On October 22, the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee and the Oswego County Traffic Safety Board celebrated nine individuals and one agency who exemplify dedication to traffic safety.
Four thirteen, a group for Christian parents of BLGTQ children, will meet Nov. 16, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at Lakeside Christian Ministries, 38 Bakeman St., Fulton. All are welcome.
Trained and nationally certified child passenger technicians will be on hand Saturday (November 7) , from 9 a.m. to noon at the East Side Oswego Fire Department.
