Oswego State Downtown will open a new window on the college’s Downtown Artist Series when it hosts “86,400 Grains of Grace: Photographs by John Sheffield” from July 22 to Sept. 2. A free public reception will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. July 22, at the branch of Tyler Art Gallery and the College Store and West First and Bridge streets in Oswego.
The College of Saint Rose in Albany announced that Margaret Battles of Oswego is one of 143 students honored for outstanding academic achievement.
Principal Michael Smolnik welcomed guests and thanked them for their commitment to transporting the students to the UPK program and “entrusting us with your most valuable commodity.”

The 29th annual Oswego Harborfest is proud to have several workshops taking place during this year’s festival. These workshops offer a unique opportunity for festival-goers to create and learn through hands-on activities.
The school board meeting for tonight has been changed to 4 p.m. This time change is due to the board entering into executive session at the beginning of the meeting. It may last up to an hour.
Oswego Expeditions is sponsoring a series of heritage bus tours this summer and fall to celebrate Oswego County’s 200th anniversary. Tours are scheduled for one Saturday a month in communities across Oswego County between July and October.
