Children ages 9 and above and adults interested in being involved should come to an information meeting that will take place Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at the H. Lee White Marine Museum.

Fifty-five deputy sheriffs and civilian staff working in the civil law enforcement divisions from 40 sheriff’s offices around the state attended a continuing training program at the Gideon Putnam Hotel in Saratoga Springs.
Snakes, and turtles and owls, oh my! Participants in CYO Summer Recreation Program learned about those animals and more when Education Coordinator, Ashlea Vilello of Rosamond Gifford Zoo visited the CYO.
The event promoted breastfeeding and included presentations on proper nutrition, techniques and the benefits to both baby and mom. The event also included a peer panel and door prizes appropriate for nursing moms.
“The real winners of this tournament are the animals that the Humane Society helps and the people who care about them,” said Diane Broadwell, co-chair of the event and chair of animal services for the Humane Society. “So, we hope everyone had a
great time on this beautiful course having fun for a great cause.”
