You know that summer is not far away when fresh fruits and vegetables become available at your local farmer’s markets.
On Thursday July 14th, the ‘Pinta and the ‘Nina’ , replicas of Columbus’ ships will open in Oswego. The ships will be docked at the West Pier, adjacent to the H Lee White Maritime Museum, until their departure early Monday morning July 18th.
Last seen in this area in 2001, the piping plover is on the endangered species list. According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, there were only about 61 breeding pairs in the entire Great Lakes region in 2010.
The Oswego County Fair Housing Council recently announced the winners of its 2011 coloring contest. Community Bank, Fulton Savings Bank and Pathfinder Bank each donated savings bonds as prizes. The winners also took home gift certificates provided by Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego.
Triple-D Derby, Down and Dirty is a three-day flat track roller derby extravaganza in which derby skaters compete for cash prizes for their home league or favorite charitable organization.
