ARC of Oswego Wraps Up Bowling League for the Season

ARC of Oswego County recently wrapped up its seasonal bowling  league for 2010 with an awards banquet.  Prizes were given to top teams  and individuals with outstanding performance.  The bowling league –  named after Kayda Sutliff, a former program participant – is one of  several activities offered through ARC of Oswego County’s  Social-Recreation program.  The Social-Recreation program gives adults  with disabilities the chance to explore interests and hobbies in a peer  group, work on socialization and other skills, and promote community  inclusion.     Pictured is Joy Preeman, showing off her league T-shirt  and her bowling medal.ARC of Oswego County recently wrapped up its seasonal bowling league for 2010 with an awards banquet. SUNY Oswego Wind Turbine Project to Generate Power, Education

The patent-pending powAir Sail from Image Technologies Group of  Syracuse is the type of small-footprint, vertical-axis unit that may  start producing electrical energy atop SUNY Oswego's Lee Hall later this  year. SUNY Oswego has bid out a project to provide wind power by fall for the electrical system of a building regularly exposed to Lake Ontario’s energetic airstream.

From the Library of Congress’s collection, five views of the former Public Market Building along the Oswego River in Oswego.

The photos were taken in the 1960s and appear to show the strip of buildings that front Bridge St. and end with Old City Hall.  More photos inside.
