The Oswego Middle School year-end awards assembly placed several students in the spotlight. This year, Principal Bonnie Finnerty and Assistant Principal Roseanne Bayne presented the Oswego Middle School Academic Excellence Awards to Mike Crisafulli, Sarah Mancuso, Dylan Lavner, Alyssa Ferreira, Mackenzie Palmer and Victoria Jaskula.
On Saturday, a benefit was hosted by Lake City Lodge #127 for Tracey Mowry. The event was held to help support her battle against lung cancer.
Well known for welcoming visitors to the city of Oswego, the O’Mara Tourist Center would like to open its doors to area youth who would like to experience some of the history that the center has to offer.
Once again the Rose Izzo Writing Award was presented to a departing Fitzhugh Park Elementary School sixth grader. The award, introduced several years ago by the Izzo family is presented to one outstanding writer among the FPS sixth graders. This year, Kristina Skogfeldt was the recipient.
The H. Lee White Marine Museum and the Oswego Maritime Foundation invite the community to join us for a fun filled day on Aug. 1 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. and to help celebrate the New York State Barge Canal System.
