Oswego State Downtown will present a free exhibition Feb. 2 to March 23 titled “Connected by Line,” featuring recent paintings and drawings inspired by the personal narratives of SUNY Oswego alumni and artists Emily Floyd and Katie Burke. A free public reception will take place as part of the college’s Downtown Artist Series from 5 to 7 p.m. on Feb. 9, at the downtown gallery and branch of the College Store, corner of West First and Bridge streets.
Set in Victorian-era London, “Sweeney Todd” tells the tale of the mysterious and murderous Todd, played by OHS senior Nolan Callahan, whose suspicious barber shop and unseemly meat pies have delighted and horrified audiences for decades.
Registrations for the upcoming Little League season will be held in the cafeteria area of the Fulton War Memorial on January 13 (8 a.m. -1 p.m.), January 20 (1 – 6 p.m.) and January 27 (8 a.m. – 6 p.m.). All boys and girls ages 4 through16 who reside within either the Fulton or Hannibal school districts boundaries or attend a school in either Fulton or Hannibal are eligible to play Fulton Little League baseball or softball.
The Oswego Lions Club will present “Roar with Laughter” with comedians Nick Sterio and Erica Spera, January 26 at The American Foundry, 246 W. Seneca St. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m
The Central Square School District is asking the community for nominations for this year’s Wall of Distinction. The CSSD Wall of Distinction was established in spring of 2015, for the purpose of recognizing and honoring graduates and staff members of Central Square School District.
The Oswego Players have announced a slate of six new shows for 2018 to help celebrate its 80th anniversary season. Since the group was founded in 1938 the Oswego Players have carried on a tradition of producing several productions a year including dramas, mysteries, comedies, musicals and children’s theater.
Nathan Summerville of Fulton is slated to graduate in 2018 from G Ray Bodley High School and has been accepted into the mechanical engineering technology (BS) program.
The seventh annual Family Fun Snow Day will kick off from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. January 27 at CNY Arts Center located on the Cayuga College Fulton Campus at 11 River Glen Drive. The snow themed day of carnival games, prizes, arts and crafts and plenty of hot chocolate traditionally kicks off on the last Saturday in January.
