Life skills, teamwork and cookies have created a recipe for success for a handful of students in the work-study program at Fourth Street School in Fulton. The program’s annual Christmas cookie baking event recently took place in the building’s kitchen.
As a holiday surprise to the Mexico Food Pantry and local animal shelters, the New Haven Elementary community joined together to collect non-perishable food items and pet food, supplies and toys for people in need.
The Dean’s List recognizes students that have a grade point average of 3.6 or higher.
Mexico fourth graders were transported centuries back in time to learn great life advice from native leaders. They dove into the culture and circumstances of the 1800s during the interactive “The Keeper’s Voice” performance, as Merry-Go-Round Playhouse actors portrayed real-life and fictional characters of that time.

Sam Vono was inducted as the newest member of the Fulton Lions Club at its December meeting. “We are delighted to have Sam join our ‘pride’ and serve our greater Fulton community,” said Michelle Stanard, president.
Representatives from the United Way of Greater Oswego County, and Human Concerns met with members of the SUNY Oswego SEFA United Way Campaign Committee and the SUNY Oswego men’s and women’s Laker ice hockey teams to accept several boxes filled with non-perishable food items and toys.
The Amboy 4-H Environmental Education Center will begin its Winter 2018 Sunday Woodland Snowshoe Wanders programs in January, on Sundays, January 7 and 14, at 2 p.m. There is a program fee of just $4 per person or $12 per family, and children younger than three are free.
