The Pulaski Historical Society will join in the activities celebrating the Salmon River Festival. The museum will have an open house and will be open for free tours. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 7. Also, on Oct. 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., you are invited to bring your lunch (or pick up some take-out at a local eatery) and come join us in the carriage house for our October Brown Bag Lunch.
Oswego County OB-GYN, P.C. and Oswego Health welcome Obstetrician/Gynecologist Ayesha L. Turner, M.D. A native of Brooklyn, Dr. Turner completed her medical training through a seven-year program that combined the required education for both her undergraduate and medical degrees.
Members of the Oswego Health Auxiliary are looking for a baker interested in winning a mixer during the group’s annual fall bazaar to be held October 11 and 12 in the lobby of Oswego Hospital. Tickets to win the mixer will be available both days of the bazaar from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.
Palermo Elementary School students are committed to saddle up and read throughout the 2017-18 school year. To begin the initiative, the students were treated to an interactive “Saddle Up and Read” magic show which promoted the benefits of reading and libraries.
The meetings will provide an overview of the state’s approach to trout stream management and elicit feedback from anglers regarding their preferences and expectations for the management of trout stream waters.
Students, staff members and community members are all invited to participate in this joyous display of togetherness, as collection boxes will be placed at each school building. FCSD will coordinate with community partner agencies to maximize its reach.

The Mexico Academy and Central School District had a successful start to the 2017-18 school year, thanks in part to members of its dedicated transportation staff. Palermo Elementary bus drivers and monitors received special recognition recently during the school’s annual bus driver appreciation breakfast.
The Shineman Foundation awarded a grant to ARISE in Oswego County to purchase additional aluminum ramps to be used for members of the community in need. The aluminum ramp program allows ARISE to bring people home from nursing homes, provide quality end of life for Hospice patients and it provides a quick fix for those that find themselves in desperate need of a ramp.
