The Fulton Lions Club proudly presents the running of the 27th annual Duck Derby, from noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 10. “This year there will be prizes for the 22 top finishers as well as the last place duck, with a grand prize of $2,500,” said Zach Merry, event chair.

When Kerrie Schremp’s 2016-2017 first grade students at Lanigan Elementary advance to second grade and learn the Common Core unit on community, they’ll already have a solid foundation from her classroom. The veteran teacher recently hosted a class picnic at Volney Town Park because her most recent class formed such a strong bond with her, as did their parents.
