The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.
Oswego Rotary welcomed a new president at the Changing of the Guard ceremony on June 27. Carrie Penoyer, a lifelong resident of Oswego County, assumed the position for the 2017-18 Rotary fiscal year.
The visitors and residents in Oswego during Harborfest this year will be able to enjoy festival related Snapchat geofilters from the generosity of Pathfinder Bank in Oswego. This year, Pathfinder has been kind enough to sponsor all the musical events that will be taking place in Breitbeck Park on July 29. This includes the bands F5, Violet Mary, Stroke, Brass Inc., and Frostbit Blue.
Faith United Church, 112 Mark Fitzgibbons Drive, is pleased to announce the appointment of Rev. Deborah Johnson as interim pastor. Rev. Johnson is a native of northeastern Pennsylvania, where she received her B.A. in Social Welfare from Bloomsburg University and a Masters of Social Work from Marywood University.

Mariah Munger of Fulton was one of more than 1,200 undergraduate students who earned their degrees during the spring 2017 semester at SUNY New Paltz.
The Oswego Middle School recently held the 8th Grade Recognition Ceremony. The ceremony is held annually to recognize the 8th Grade Class for all of its hard work over the course of the two years of middle school. Each student is presented with a certificate with their name on it in recognition of them completing OMS.
Blessings in a Backpack will hold its second annual ‘Count Your Blessings’ Trivia Night on November 3 to help put an end to childhood hunger in Oswego and Fulton. The Oswego and Fulton Blessings in a Backpack chapters are excited to, once again, partner up to help feed hungry bellies in both cities.
Do you know anything about so-called Thundershirts? I think they are like a straightjacket for dogs and I cannot imagine then being healthy. They sound like they are just a money-maker being sold to well-meaning dog owners thinking they are helping their pets.
The quilt was made by Peg Rowlee and Quilt Complete of Oswego. Tickets will be available throughout the bazaar.
