Ritchie Joins Forces With Canadian Senator, Member of Parliament To Boost Tourism, Strengthen Economies Of Two Nations

State Senator Patty Ritchie has announced the passage of a new Canadian law that lifts a cloud of uncertainty over boaters rights on the St. Lawrence River that was hurting 1000 Islands tourism and threated to sour longstanding bonds of friendship between two of the world’s greatest nations. Under this new law, American boaters who do not anchor their boat or step foot on Canadian soil do not have to report to Canadian Customs.

Students at Fairley Elementary School traveled to Brazil, China, Ireland, Australia and Spain as part of a global history and geography project that transformed classrooms into each country. They know that cracking the windows does not prevent deadly heat buildup inside a car and that even on a relatively mild 70-degree day, the inside of a car will quickly reach 90 degrees. But do you know what to do if you see someone else’s dog alone in a car on a hot day? Two things. Call 911. Then, if the car is near a store or public building find the manager and request an emergency public service announcement about the dog in the car.
