Mexico has a new business, Terri’s Country Crafts & Books is located at the Carriage House Shoppe at 3291 Main St., on the corner of Main Street and Washington Avenue. The grand opening will be September 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and there will be chances to win a gift basket as well as complimentary coffee and baked goods.

United Way to Kick Off Annual Campaign

Members of the United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Campaign Cabinet are busy putting the final touches on the agenda for one of Oswego County’s most impactful events the United Way’s Annual Campaign Kick-Off Breakfast. Scheduled for September 10, the event will be held from 8 – 9 a.m. at the American Foundry, 246 W. Seneca St. (behind Fajita Grill on Route 104 West) in Oswego.

Fulton Area Snow Travelers Snowmobile Club Presents Scholarships

The Great Eastern Whiteout held in February at Fulton War Memorial and Lake Neatahwanta was once again a great success. During the off season, Fulton Area Snow Travelers Snowmobile Club spread the success. Four scholarships at $250 each were given to Oswego County students. Each scholarship was funded by the Great Eastern Whiteout Committee.

Shallit, Spindler to reawaken Romantic Period with violin, piano

Violinist Jon Shallit of the SUNY Oswego music department will pair with pianist Howard Spindler in a Focus on Faculty concert that seeks to evoke the meaning of the Romantic Period in music at 3 p.m. Sept. 14, in Sheldon Hall ballroom. “I’ve tried to select pieces that convey the real meaning — the depth — of the period,” Shallit said of the concert, titled “The Romantic Spirit.”
