New author Connie Evans has joined with Tails and Tales to publish Charlotte’s Big Dream, the true story of her rescue dog. Connie teamed up with local illustrator Jim Arnold to portray Charlotte’s story from the time she was outdoors, homeless, cold and hungry searching for her new family to her adoption by a new mom.
School spirit reached epic heights at Pulaski Senior High School when students demonstrated their school pride in a very unique way. The students dressed as their favorite super hero on the first day of “spirit week” festivities.
Oswego County BOCES Culinary Arts students made 200 bag lunches for the event. Students worked in stations to assemble the ham and turkey sandwiches, some cleaned lettuce while others portioned meat on a deli slicer.
Distinguished children’s book author Bruce Coville roamed his old stomping grounds today (Oct. 10), sharing his passion for writing with students in the Phoenix Central School District. Coville, an author of more than 100 books geared toward children and young adults, grew up and attended school in Phoenix. He said his passion for writing was ignited during a class assignment when he was in sixth grade.
The Oswego Area CROP Hunger Walk will be held on Oct. 20 at 1:30 p.m. The walk will begin and end at the Oswego YMCA Armory, 265 W. First St., Oswego. Registration begins at 1 p.m.
Until September 1, one phone call to Oswego County Opportunities Transportation Services provided Medicaid recipients throughout Oswego County with safe, reliable transportation to and from medical appointments both within and outside Oswego County. With the New York State Medicaid System now regionalized, the number to call is new but the dependable service that OCO Transportation Services is known for remains the same.

APW Elementary School hosted two curriculum nights in early October for students and their family members. The first curriculum night event was for students in the school’s primary grades, universal pre-kindergarten through grade two, and the second for students in the school’s intermediate grades, grades three through six.
