J.R. Fairgrieve Elementary School students and staff donated $104.03 to the Salvation Army recently.

Fun includes a children’s carnival, face painting and art projects; a Snow Sculpture/Snowman Contest; hot drinks and hot soups; local entertainment; celebrity storytellers and an art exhibit from local artists.

The local club made a donation as well as the Foundation grant to provide the necessary piece of equipment for the sheltered workshop on Morrill Place in Fulton.

Giving back during the holiday season is something the residents and staff of Bishop’s Commons Assistive Living Residence have been doing for the past few years. Sponsoring a family is one way that residents, families and staff come together for the cause of helping those in need this holiday season.

The congregation of Prince of Peace Church donated food for families living in OCO’s homeless apartment program. The food will be distributed to those in need in the program.

Fulton based agencies Oswego Industries, Inc. and ARC of Oswego County celebrated the holiday with a Holiday Cookie Event to include a sing-a-long, a visit from Santa and “giving tree” gifts for children in the county.

Black Clawson/Davis Standard and Fulton Sunrise Rotary partnered to donate gifts and food for needy families.

“We are seeing  more need every year, but the response has been tremendous,” said School Nurse Team Leader Christina Chamberlain as the Oswego High School and outside organizations and individuals once again rallied to support students and families in need.

Once again the Oswego Middle School student body, under the direction of the OMS Student Council, conducted its annual holiday non-perishable food drive. All of the items donated will be presented to Human Concerns of Oswego.
