Temperature, threat of thunderstorms increase on Tuesday
The Oswego County Legislature recently awarded a contract to Info Quick Solutions for text and imaging services for the County Clerk’s Office. The firm will use its own equipment to scan and record data for a variety of transactions, which the County Clerk’s Office is required to keep or provide.
Large crowds filled the field behind the Fulton War Memorial Friday and Saturday night for another edition of Jazz Fest. They enjoyed local food and danced to bands such as Brass, Inc.; Grupo Pagan; Isreal Hagan and Stroke and others.

The Urger, a New York State Canal tug, joins the fleet at Oswego’s Historic Maritime District on West First Street Pier from Aug. 29 to Sept. 1. Her visit is planned to help kick off the Oswego Canal Festival planned for Labor Day weekend. She will be available for free walk-aboard tours during regular museum hours. The Oswego Canal Festival runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 1 through 3.
Harborfest attendees are always excited to see an admission free concert each year featuring national touring acts that normally would require a ticket to be purchased to see them in concert. But for one fan planning on attending Harborfest in 2012, seeing the announced headliner, Kenny Loggins, would be a dream come true for her and her family.
At 1:35 p.m. Wednesday, Charles E. Thomas Jr., 26, of 2657 SR 3, Crosby Hill Trailer Park, Lot D3, Fulton, and at 9:40 a.m. Thursday, Ryan M. Delaney, 18, of 24 W. 11th St., D7, Fulton, were each arrested for third-degree burglary, a class D felony, and third-degree arson, a class C felony.
After a 45 minute heated debate over which data imaging services company would be used in the county clerk’s office, Oswego County Legislators voted 15-8-2 Thursday in favor of using Info Quick Solutions, Inc. of Liverpool.
UPDATE: The Oswego City Police Department has been notified by the Oswego Hospital that Victor O. Woolson has died from the swimming accident that occurred on Lake Ontario August 9, 2012.
At 8:02 p.m.Aug. 9, the Oswego Fire Department responded to a person in the water in distress in the area of the former Sheldon Beach.
The execution of a search warrant resulted in the seizure of 6 bags of crack cocaine that were packaged for sale as well as additional items that are consistent with the illegal sales of narcotic substances, police report. As a result of the investigation, Joseph C. Mannino Jr., 28, was arrested and charged.
