Astrophysicists using large radio telescopes to observe a collection of cosmic clocks in the Milky Way Galaxy –- including SUNY Oswego faculty member and planetarium director Natalie Lewandowska –- have found evidence for gravitational waves that oscillate with periods of years to decades, according to a set of papers published June 28 in The Astrophysical Journal Letters.

Cyclists From 40 States Reach Halfway Point On 400-Mile Cross-State Bicycle Trip

New York’s biggest multi-day bike tour departed from Buffalo on July 9, to arrive in Albany eight days later on July 16. 750 cyclists from 40 states and Canada are taking to the trail as part of the 25th anniversary of the Cycle the Erie Canal tour, organized by the statewide nonprofit Parks & Trails New York (PTNY). Covering between 40 and 60 miles a day, cyclists will travel along the now 85% off-road Erie Canalway Trail, the east-west leg of the 750-mile Empire State Trail.

Girl Scouts Of NYPENN Pathways Awarded Grant To Provide Youth Mental Health First Aid Training To Staff And Volunteers

The Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways (GSNYPENN) Council serving 24 counties in New York and two in Northern Pennsylvania was recently awarded a grant by charter organization Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) to assist its efforts to train council staff and adult volunteers as they support the mental wellbeing of youth members.

mission: midlife Wellness Studio is one of 10 recipients world-wide to be awarded a Studio Scale Up Grant awarded by Studio Grow. Beth Ann Dice, owner/trainer at the studio, is a Certified Breast Cancer Recovery BOSU%C2%AE Specialist and Certified Cancer Exercise Specialist. Ms. Dice was also awarded a scholarship to participate in Studio Grow%E2%80%99s 12-month Mastermind Business Coaching Program, and will attend a two-day retreat in Chicago later this month as part of the program.

State Police Investigate Fraud Case Involving Card Skimming Device At Fulton Walmart

State Police have released a photo of the device that was used at the Walmart store in Granby. As you can see in the photo, the device looks identical to the card reader at the register. The skimming device even has the same logo at the top of the device.

Today’s national average price for a gallon of gasoline is $3.54, no change from last Monday. One year ago, the price was $4.68. The New York State average is $3.68, no change from a week ago. New York Department Of State Announces Oswego County Awarded Nearly $1.8 Million In State Matching Funds As A Result Of Taxpayer Savings Achieved In 2020

The New York Department of State today announced that Oswego County will receive $1,791,212 in state matching funds as a result of taxpayer savings achieved in 2020. The funding is provided through the County-Wide Shared Services Initiative, which provides a one-time state match of county and local government taxpayer savings achieved in the first year of implementation of new shared services projects.
